Ammonia Emissions from Cattle Manure under Variable Moisture Exchange between the Manure and the Environment

چکیده
When reducing ammonia emissions from cowsheds, it is recommended to reduce the ventilation intensity, air temperature in barn, manure moisture by using bedding and manure-contaminated surfaces, prevent urine accumulating airways. Using mass flow method wind tunnel, after research on seven types of cattle with different contents, was found that evaporates up 3.9 times more intensively liquid than solid manure. There a strong correlation between water evaporation Ammonia emission decrease 2.0–2.3 times, 1.9–2.1 times. Different cowsheds have opportunities pollution conditions for dry crusts form surface. The best results will be achieved applying complex measures pollution.

Cattle Manure Enhances Methanogens Diversity and Methane Emissions Compared to Swine Manure under Rice Paddy
Livestock manures are broadly used in agriculture to improve soil quality. However, manure application can increase the availability of organic carbon, thereby facilitating methane (CH4) production. Cattle and swine manures are expected to have different CH4 emission characteristics in rice paddy soil due to the inherent differences in composition as a result of contrasting diets and digestive ...
متن کاملInfluence of dietary crude protein concentration and source on potential ammonia emissions from beef cattle manure.
Emissions of ammonia, as well as other gases and particulates, to the atmosphere are a growing concern of livestock producers, the general public, and regulators. The concentration and ruminal degradability of CP in beef cattle diets may affect urinary and fecal excretion of N and thus may affect ammonia emissions from beef cattle feed yards. To determine the effects of dietary CP concentration...
متن کاملAmmonia Emissions from a Commercial Poultry Manure Composting Facility
Composting is an effective waste management technology for converting animal wastes into valuable organic fertilizer. However, air emissions from composting, especially ammonia (NH3) emission, reduces the nitrogen fertilizer value of the compost and greatly impacts the environment. Ammonia emission from commercial composting facilities is not well understood and is limiting mitigation or recove...
متن کاملAmmonia Emissions Rate from Composted Laying Hen Manure
During the past five years we have developed three emission calorimeters (EC) that can be used to evaluate mass generation and utilization of gasses. We have tested various treatments that significantly reduced ammonia generation by laying hen manure (Harrison and Koelkebeck, 2002; 2003). متن کاملAmmonia Volatilization from Dairy and Poultry Manure
Ammonia volatilization is a major N loss process for surface-applied manures and urea fertilizers. The lost ammonia is important for both agricultural and non-agricultural ecosystems because it: i) is a direct loss of plant available N to the farmer, ii) reduces the N:P ratio in manure, which accelerates P build-up in soils, and iii) contributes to eutrophication in aquatic and low-N input ecos...
